Students covered in face paint, glitter and spirit gear overflow the student section with an extremely satisfying attendance to their school’s final homecoming game. Alumni and families surround the field, seeing familiar faces and anxiously waiting for the game to begin. No matter what their age, the fan’s roars are heard from down the road full of the similar feelings of excitement and anticipation. This unique event, packed with students and alumni is truly a one time occurrence, but will be a treasured memory for years to come.
This is a school year full of many last events, with the most recent being homecoming. The week was filled with spirit, from dress up days to knight games, the students showed their overwhelming liveliness towards Lahser and one another. Knowing that it is the last Knight Games, last homecoming dance, football game, and week altogether gives the students a greater reason to support the last year of Lahser High School as many know it. However, with this last year comes an anxious anticipation for the beginning of a new school and new memories to create in the coming years. The last Lahser homecoming football game was a wonderful opportunity bringing the alumni and current students together in celebrating the last homecoming of a renowned school, but also the bright future ahead for the up and coming Bloomfield Hills Blackhawks.
